About This Product
Contender peach, a cold tolerant variety, provides a crop of big yellow fruit just when other peach trees are slowing down. The skin is a red-orange color while the flesh is sweet and yellow. The flesh of the peach is firm and resists browning and the freestone pit removes easily. Tolerant of late-spring frost, Contender's a good choice in growing zones where other peaches falter. Contender is self pollinating. The fruit ripens in mid to late August. Requires 1050 chill hours. At maturity, the Contender is approximately 10 ft. H to 15 ft. W.
Contender peach trees yield large, juicy peaches bursting with flavor, perfect for fresh eating, canning or baking
Enjoy peace of mind with contender peach trees' strong resistance to common peach tree diseases like leaf curl and bacterial spot, reducing the need for intensive pest management
Thriving in USDA hardiness zones 4 to 8, these trees are suitable for a wide range of climates, from moderately cold to warm, making them an ideal choice for growers in diverse regions
Self-pollinating capabilities, contender patch trees don't require a separate pollinator, simplifying the growing process and ensuring reliable fruit production
Low maintenance and high reward―contender peach trees require minimal intervention beyond regular watering, Sunlight exposure and seasonal pruning for optimal growth and fruiting
