About This Product

The quintessential hydrangea, Mathilda Gutges is a gorgeous bigleaf hydrangea with velvety medium green leaves and fluffy tufts of blooms. This hydrangea's flowers range from blue to purple to pink depending on the pH of the soil. It can be pruned early in growing season to maintain size; however, it flowers off old wood so hard pruning is not recommended after spring to allow flowers to form. Mathilda Gutges can also be left unpruned and wild and will look just as wonderful. Thriving in full to part Sun and rich soil, this hydrangea is easy to maintain and even easier to love.
