About This Product

A popular narrow and evergreen privacy hedge, the Skip Laurel is also cold hardy and shade tolerant. Grows relatively quickly for an evergreen shrub and requires little maintenance beyond initial watering to become established within the first few years of planting. Attractive long white flower spikes bloom in spring months. While similar to other Laurels, most notably Otto Luyken, the Skip Laurel boasts narrower and glossier evergreen leaves that provide year-round interest and a noticeably denser canopy that reveals more texture and light, especially through the Winter months. Although preferring partial shade while young, the Skip Laurel thrives in just about any hedging location with a few years of proper care and establishment. Named for the location of their initial discovery, namely the Schipka pass separating the mountains between India and Nepal. Lives most comfortably in USDA Cold Hardiness Zones 5-9 and reaches a mature height and width of 10 ft. and 5 ft., respectively.
