About This Product

An outstanding upright Japanese Maple cultivar， 'Red Emperor' is a small tree known for its multi-seasonal colors and exceptional tolerance of heat and cold. Widely planted in urban landscapes requiring a tree with limited space. Also known as 'Emperor 1'， the early spring color emerges deep maroon with a vivid translucent sheen that reflects brightly in direct sunlight. Foliage holds this rich， dark red color well throughout the summer months before turning a vibrant crimson-red in autumn before shedding to the ground for winter. The fall of the leaves exposes detailed reddish-black bark that lends interest to a landscape through winter months as well. The Red Emperor Japanese Maple lives most comfortably in USDA Cold Hardiness Zones 5 through 9. Reaches a mature height and width of 15 ft.
